Coming to Estonia...
I could think of no better place to study the nexus of international relations, transition economics, and technology development.  Nine months researching Estonia’s progress and drive to succeed revealed countless lessons that I’ll carry with me in my academic, professional, and personal lives.

Before coming here...
I came to Tallinn armed with good boots, a heavy coat, and a laptop.  I arrived in winter and knew it would take time to “warm up” both in climate and in building a network of friends and contacts.  The winter was a challenge for me at first, but it did not take long for me to meet interesting and fun researchers and students.  Bonus:  Never again will I be unprepared for winters in the U.S.!

Studying in Estonia...
I expected to hear personal accounts of events in international politics.  What I didn’t expect to find in Estonia was a new paradigm for international affairs—one that borrows from the realism of the 20th Century but is still liberal in its approach to Europe and the world.  I gained a new lens to view the world and my role in it.

The last thing I want to say...
You won’t regret living and studying in as unique a place as Estonia.  I absolutely recommend study in Estonia!
