Coming to Estonia...
I knew Estonia and Tartu from my master studies. I like Tartu, and I like the University and the research team, and it is not far away from Latvia – the nature and the mentality and the weather is common for me too. So I decided to make a PhD here.

Before coming here I knew about Estonia...
I didn’t have the whole image of Estonia in my mind before I came to study here.

Differences in student life in Estonia and in my home country...
I was living in my home town (not in Jelgava, my place of studies) during the all of five years of studies in Latvia, that’s why I have participated only in some part of student life. That’s why I can not compare. But I guess Tartu is a student city in the full sense.

Studying in Estonia ...
I think it is very important for the personality development, but also for the academic skills to make this experience – to live some time in a foreign country. It gives me personal benefit – I can understand people more, also those who are different to me, but also I have different view at my own country.

Some of the things I learned here...
I’m more flexible in many things now. I also know more now in the different approaches in different universities. I have more experience.

I would tell others in my home country...
I would recommend them to come for master studies in Estonia.

My degree programme is...
Landscape architecture, interdisciplinary, different approach, international, experimental.

While being away from my home country, I miss the most...
Riga and life in Riga, my friends in Latvia, Latvian products, communication in the native language.

I like to study here...
It is important as general life experience. And it also helps a lot for the language learning.

My future...
I am planning to stay active in research and professional activity in Baltic States. I cannot say more precisely, I have to make my PhD thesis first.
