Finland

Coming to Estonia...
I was looking for study programmes in English around Baltic Sea Region. Estonia was close enough with good transportation links to Finland.

Before coming here...
I know that Estonia was small country with well developing economy and long history.

Student life in Estonia...
Finland university’s have more academic freedom, while programme in Estonia was more strict.

Studying in Estonia...
I got much more friends from very different backgrounds and cultures than would have got in studies in Finland. My English communication skills got much better during the studies. I learned to live in a different culture.

Best things that have happened to me in Estonia...
I got interested in Baltic States after living and studying in Estonia. After gradutating I got into master’s programme concerning Baltic Sea Region. Without my studies in Estonia, I doubt I won’t have choosen this route.

I would tell others...
Studying in Estonia made my life richer. I learned many things from myself while living and studying in other culture. I got new friends, new opportunities for the future, etc.

My degree programme is...
Multicultural, interesting, mind opening, giving many opportunities, multi-discipline, teachers from varies backgrounds, learning about the world around you, professonal teaching-staff, international athmosphere...

While being away from my home country, I miss the most...
I miss the most miss my family and friends back home.

Studying is in Estonia is an international experience...
It is gaining the opportunity to learn new things about yourself and other cultures. Also to gain knowledge for the future (working-life) what it would be like to live abroad.

My future plans...
I want to graduate as a master and get a job related to Baltic Sea Region and/or International Relations.

The last thing I want to say...
Suosittelen opiskelua Virossa; Viro on lähellä ja Viron kulttuuri on mielenkiintoinen. Opiskelu siellä on tasokasta ja monipuolista!
