Since the programme is led by an British professor, Dr Simon Bell (head of the department of landscape architecture), with teaching by a German professor, Friedrich Kuhlmann, large parts have been taught in English for 5 years already. The decision to open full English-language programme was also driven from the university’s policy to improve the international integration.

A relatively large proportion of the curriculum is dedicated to design studios, field visits, and research. The period of study lasts for four semesters. Graduates of the programme will be able to work in professional practice in private design offices, in local government or government agencies throughout Europe and beyond where their skills are needed. They may also use the master degree as a basis for entering a doctoral programme.

The entrance requirements are based on the ones for Estonian students and include a Bachelor degree and a portfolio as well as a short exam.

The progamme starts from September 2011, the application deadlines are May 1 for non-EU students and July 1 for EU students.
