Tallinn Winter School has begun!

Tallinn Winter School has begun and lasts until January 27. The third Tallinn Winter School brings more than 30 students from 15 countries to participate in Tallinn University short courses. Students come mostly from Europe, but there are also participants from Mexico, Australia and Canada.
Tallinn Winter School 2012 offers seven courses: Estonian, Russian, and Chinese intensive language courses, plus workshops in painting, new media and creative writing plus a special course for doctoral students “Gaze and Glance: Ways of Seeing in Culture”. Studies will be supplemented by a program of cultural and social events. The language of instruction is English and all courses last from one to three weeks. Tallinn Winter School ends with a field trip to St. Petersburg.

Students can also take part of the cultural programme. During the three weeks of Winter School, participants not only enhance their knowledge in a variety of fields, but at the same time develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Estonian culture.
Tallinn University was established in 2005, merging several universities and research institutes in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The university is the fastest-growing in the country, strong in social sciences and humanities and rapidly-developing in natural sciences. As part of the University-wide internationalization efforts, the university offers 13 academic degree programmes and a number of shorter programmes and courses in English.
